The Aim High Story

Experienced. Certified. Supportive.

Ajia Meux is a former social worker turned communications professional whose passion is helping people achieve THEIR passion.

It was the time she spent working with service members transitioning out of the military after returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan that Ajia realized the power of hope. Soldiers were fearful of what life would be upon transitioning to a civilian. For many of them, their lives were so connected to their identity as soldiers that not being one was the equivalent of failure. The work slowly focused on thinking about strengths and skills that could position them to create a new work identity – have a different occupation. As her clinical practice winded down, Ajia walked away realizing that hope is a key element in progress and inextricably connected to purpose. Without that purpose, human beings lose focus in life. After giving up her social work career in 2016, she set out to help people develop purpose and hope through career strategy and coaching. She combines the deep exploration used in clinical practice with smart questions and superb writing to produce a resume containing the full depth and breadth of your experience.

Ajia holds a PhD in Strategic Communication from the University of Oklahoma, an MSW from Howard University and a bachelor’s from California State University, Fresno. She is a freelance writer and her work has been featured in The Norman Transcript, Dallas Morning News, Territory OKC, OU Daily and Renovator Magazine. Ms. Meux represents the Yay Area and calls Oakland, California her first home.
